A BOOK exhibition for children and young readers is being held from now until January 15 to give youths access to books which can help them gain knowledge in a variety of subjects.

To combat the deluge of indecent and objectionable material entering the market as children's literature, Commercial Press has handpicked over 500 types of children's books from famous local and international publishers for display.

These include children's encyclopedias, books on natural science, mathematics, history and geography, literature, pictorials, cartoons and dictionaries.

Of particular interest are the encyclopedias, humorous Garfield, Snoopy and Mr Men cartoons, captivating classics and the ever-popular book and cassette sets by renowned children's author Roald Dahl.

Many of the books on display are new to the Hong Kong market and a break from conventional children's books.

Both teachers and parents will benefit from the various approaches to education these books from different publishers represent. The real winners though, will of course be the children they are educating.
