No fan of Kenny G

PETER Sherwood's article ''A night of bad sax'' might have offended Penny Tsoukaris (Sunday Morning Post, November 14), who likes the type of music performed by Kenny G, but Sherwood has every right to express his opinion which, incidentally, is shared by many.

In my opinion, Kenny G is the most over-rated musician of all time and there is no better description than ''elevator music'' which summarises everything about this type of bland music, surprisingly so popular in yuppie circles.

I hope Sherwood can keep up his good work which would be appreciated by those who know the difference between good and bad music.

Finally, I think the shortened surname G is the most pretentious and offensive stage name in consideration of his contribution to, and respectability in, the popular music scene. He is definitely no Prince or Sting, nor even in the league of Madonna.
