Winning cheers for Yellow

ATHLETES of Yellow House stole the limelight at the 11th annual sports day of the New Territories Heung Yee Kuk Southern District Secondary School held at Cheung Chau Sports Ground recently.


The day started off with a series of thrilling record-breaking events, reaching a climax with the inter-school invitation relay.


Fifth former Tsang Wing-tong was the centre of attention when he scooped the gold in the 100 m and 200 m run and long jump. He also carried his team and his class to victory in the A grade 4x100 m relay and the graduation classes relay.


Representatives of the four houses - Red, Yellow, Blue and Green - displayed keen sportsmanship in their fight for honours.


Principal Mr Lam Kai-ming praised participants and house officials for their enthusiastic participation.


Yellow House walked off with the overall championship while Red House won the best cheering team award.


The results are as follows: Boys' individual champions: Grade A: Tsang Wing-tong; Grade B: Chan Cheuk-yin; Grade C: Wong Kin-wing Girls' individual champions: Grade A: Lee Siu-ping; Grade B: Cheng Mei-yee; Grade C: Yeung Wai-tsz
