Everyone can be a hero by helping others

There are different kinds of heroes. Some save thousands of lives, while others help one person.

Their actions are based on love. They provide inspiration and hope. They make a difference in others' lives.

Heroes are great people, as they are selfless. They don't ask for rewards when they help others and don't mind if their deeds are not recognised by others. They should be proud of themselves.

My family and friends are my heroes. My parents take great care of me and my friends give me advice and help me solve my problems.

There is a hero in all of us. All we need to do is use our love to help others.

Thanks for your happy letter Che-yan. It is easy to take those we're closest to for granted, so I'm glad to hear that you recognise the people who help you.

If you're ever feeling blue, it is a good exercise to sit down somewhere quiet and write a list of all the people in your life who you appreciate.

If you are not sure whether they should go on the list, consider this: would you miss them if they weren't around? If the answer is yes, put them on the list.

You'll be surprised by the number of people you interact with every day.
