A great new kitchenware shop has opened in Central. Pantry Magic, which opened just before the Lunar New Year, sells its own line of professional-quality kitchen tools, using the same manufacturers that produce for such brands as Calphalon and the Williams-Sonoma shops in the United States. The store carries knives, bakeware, saucepans, paella skillets (from $108 to $178 depending on size), traditional and Teflon-coated woks, copper pans (including a unique copper wok that sells for $1,688) and rasp graters.

Managing director Robert Esser says the shop is the first of four he plans for Hong Kong; he also wants to open branches in Taiwan, South Korea, Singapore, Macau and Malaysia. All the products have a lifetime guarantee. Delivery is $100, or free for purchases of $2,000 or more.

Pantry Magic is at shop 507, Pedder Building, 12 Pedder Street, Central, tel: 2501 0988.
