Imagine this: a Mini Cooper, sporting spiky hair, parading down the road, followed by a classic vintage car with flowing blond locks.
Contemporary Dutch artist OIaf Mooij sees cars as living creatures with individual personalities. He has modified miniature and life-size cars using wacky wigs.
A graduate of the Rotterdam Academy of Fine Arts in the Netherlands, Mooij has a down-to-earth approach to art, giving everyday objects a new dimension.
'I want to make artworks which people can see on the street, without having to go to museums or galleries. It's a form of education for people who aren't used to art,' he said.
The artist added that the Dutch are receptive to his mobile works, which he calls 'hair cars'. However, he suspects that Hongkongers may be left a bit puzzled.
'Perhaps they will think the cars are for advertisements,' he said.
