Korean stars in a whirl
Korean heartthrob Chae Tae-hyun and starlet Song Hye-kyo kept the paparazzi busy over the weekend as they arrived for a round of appearances and promotions ahead of the release of their movie, My Girl And I, on March 9. The two were met by about 100 fans at the airport. Then a packed schedule and traffic delayed their APM appearance on Sunday afternoon and later kept the media waiting for an hour.
The movie is another weepie not unlike the Japanese drama Crying Out Love in the Centre of the World - he's a nerd, she's a beauty queen, they get together, she gets cancer, tissue please. Although the two actors are playing typical roles, Song and Chae agree they're ready to try something new.
'My characters and I are very similar in personality,' Chae admits about his goofy nice-guy roles. 'But, yes, I wouldn't mind playing a villain.'
TV drama queen Song concurs: 'I don't want to keep playing the same roles. I think I would want to try a period fantasy, like some of Kate Winslet's movie characters.'
