beauty buzz

A new season heralds new beauty products and this collection comprises some of the latest items in store. From skincare to lip gloss, there's something for everyone.

1 Sugar Baby's Candy Girl Raspberry Sorbet Lip Balm ($120) comes in a tin like a sardine can, which slides open to reveal hot-pink lip gloss. When applied, it's almost transparent and gives lips a natural sheen. Buy it for the packaging alone. From Seibu, Causeway Bay and Mongkok.

2 Murad's Hydrating Toner ($190) comes in a generous 150ml spray bottle. It's designed to rebalance and hydrate skin and neutralise impurities. Available from Elemis Day Spa, Central, and the Beautiful Skin Centre, Pacific Place, or from www.spaforlife.hk.

3 Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions Centella Recovery Skin-Salve ($420/75ml)) is said to soothe temporarily irritated and sensitive skin. It contains tiger herb and aloe vera. From Kiehl's, 28 Russell Street, Causeway Bay, and shop G204, Harbour City.

4 Benefit's Dallas Rose Glow powder ($270/120g) looks frighteningly orange but is easily blended to create a sun-kissed, natural tone. Sweep it across the forehead, cheeks and chin with a soft, wide tool for an even look. From the Faces store, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, and Lane Crawford, Pacific Place and Causeway Bay.

5 Sugar Baby's Mocca Pout Pot Lip Gloss ($135) comes in a purple-pink ball, which, when twisted, reveals itself to be a tub of gloss. It's subtle and small enough to fit in a handbag.

6 Benefit's three-in-one compact ($120) is for eyes, cheeks and lips and comes in pink, reddish-brown and peachy tones. With its quirky 1950s packaging, the product is ideal for touch-ups on the go. The shadow and cheek colour have staying power.
