ART BOOKS ON DISPLAY

An exhibition called Art Publishing in Germany, jointly organised by the Goethe-Institut Hongkong and Hong Kong Public Libraries, will present about 400 art books published in that country during the past few years - in English and bilingual editions.

The publishing of art books has a long tradition in Germany. The exhibition provides an insight into the quality of design and printing of contemporary art publishing in Germany, as well as an overview of contemporary trends in German art including design, photography and architecture.

The exhibition will run from tomorrow until March 30 at Exhibition Gallery 4 of the Hong Kong Central Library. Admission is free from 10am to 8pm. For more information call 2829 9920.

SEDAN CHAIR CEREMONY

A colourful team of 'super-heroes' will carry a girl in a sedan chair along Queen's Road, Central today from 5pm to 5.15pm, in a ceremony to celebrate last year's successful sedan chair race.

The runners, dressed as Batman, Spiderman and Superman, are from Deutsche Bank's Sedan Chair Race Team, which wowed people with their wacky costumes in November's race. The team will carry a young girl from one of the 35 charities that will benefit from the $3.25 million raised in the event.

The team will run from Cheung Kong Centre along Queen's Road Central to AON China Building, 29 Queen's Road.
