The lineup for the finals of the 2006 Nike Football Fives emerged at the weekend with 12 more teams qualifying from the Cheung Sha Wan district preliminary round.

The competition features 360 teams battling for a chance to contest the grand championship finals at Macpherson Playground, Mongkok, on April 8 and 9.

October 17, one of the youngest teams in the Open category this year, upset top sides Ming Tuk and Milksport Plus to clinch their spot. Most of their players are aged 20 or under.

Organised by the Hong Kong Football Association and funded by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department and Nike Hong Kong, the event gives more than 3,500 recreational players an opportunity to show off their five-a-side skills. Three preliminary rounds were held in Mongkok, Kwai Chung and Cheung Sha Wan. There are four age-group categories, a tough Open section, and a women's tournament.

The Cheung Sha Wan qualifiers for the finals were:

Under-12 - Tuen Mun Juvenile, Moon Defender; Under-14 - Earth Defender, Milksport 14; Under-16 - Alien Defender, Little Price; Under-18 - Mountain Haze B, Sunny Football Team; Open category - October 17, Champions Team B, Ocean, Hong Kong Institute of Education.
