IT company searches for a logistics manager

An ambitious logistics professional who can build new business will excel in this senior role with a multinational IT infrastructure solutions provider.

The firm is looking for a logistics manager (IT products) to help expand its operations in North Asia and oversee a team of 20.

The company, which has a staff of more than 1,000, has an annual sales turnover of US$4 billion.

The person will manage the firm's logistics operations in the region, including project implementation, inventory control and distribution planning.

The manager will need to work with overseas clients to ensure delivery on time. Therefore, candidates who have a customer-focused attitude and can pay close attention to deadlines will have an edge over others.

The ideal candidate will be independent and task-driven, and have the ability to meet the demands of an entire project. Good interpersonal and leadership abilities will be an advantage.

Kamy Chan, senior consultant, Gemini Executive Search & Selection, said this was a new position and would be ideal for a person who liked to build something from scratch.

Candidates' experience will be more important than their education.

Ms Chan hoped to find someone with about 12 years of relevant experience, including at least six years in a managerial capacity.

A background in regional logistics operations with a multinational or IT electronics company is preferred.
