The Italian city of Venice is protected from its enemies by the Flowing Queen, whose defensive influence seeps into the city through its famous canals.

But Venice is in danger from an all-powerful army sent by the Egyptian Empire. Dark forces are working to destroy the Flowing Queen and two young apprentices who work in the city come across a frightening plan that will destroy their home.

The Flowing Queen is one of many novels about teenagers who take on the powers of darkness, but German writer Kai Meyer has enough imaginative tricks up his sleeve to make sure that this fascinating and fun story is original and fresh all the way through.

The Flowing Queen is an epic, visual adventure that moves along at a terrific pace through a city where mermaids swim in the canals and stone lions fly though the skies. Expect the unexpected in this book and you will get it.
