There was a surprise aviator theme in the South Stand, because, out of coincidence, different groups decided to dress up in white pilot suits, the full Top Gun gear and sky blue flight attendant outfits.

'We found these helmets in Beijing. That's why we decided to come as pilots,' said Chris Bradley, adding that this year was the 20th anniversary of the Tom Cruise flick. 'We watched Top Gun about 10 times in the past two weeks just to practise,' he said.

The men in not-so-crisp white pilot suits had them tailor-made in Hong Kong. 'We all live in different countries, so we made our own separate measurements and e-mailed them to one guy who ordered them. It cost me $2,500,' said Peter Kay, an investment banker from England.
