Dog day afternoon

Police-themed costumes are generally old hat in SevenSeen's eyes, but we had to admit the look really suited Sherman, who was spotted mugging for the cameras near the entrance yesterday.

The bomb-sniffing expert from the police's canine division was here for work rather than pleasure yesterday, and it was the nine-year-old's third time at the Sevens.

'There isn't much difference between working here and at other places, but we've sent a team over for the tournament ever since the Bali bombing,' said Sherman's handler, who only gave his surname as Ho.

They may not have been letting the dogs out with all that serious work needing to be done, but it should have been a nice break from airport duty for Sherman, who is normally stationed at Chek Lap Kok.
