HKRFU, don't restrict loyal fans' view

The Sevens was yet again a success for the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union. However, I together with friends from the UK, Thailand, Germany, Australia and New Zealand, and this year even one from St Lucia, are very upset with the way the union treats the loyal fans who make the event such a success.

I have been attending the Sevens since 1982 and it seems each year the HKRFU makes it more difficult for us to enjoy the rugby and view the play. Last year the HKRFU placed hoardings along the East and West stands to prevent fans from viewing the rugby from the main walkway behind the sponsor's areas. The fans could only view the action from the 22 lines. This year the hoarding was extended even further such that we could only view the action from the trylines.

It is about time the HKRFU realised it is the loyal fans that make the event such a success, not the sponsor's (yes, those people who only turn up for lunch on Sunday not to view the rugby but to be seen).
