Woman in custody after airport heroin haul


A Taiwanese woman was remanded in custody yesterday after appearing in Tsuen Wan Court to face one count of trafficking in a dangerous drug. Fang Huei-ping, 28, was arrested at the airport on Tuesday after customs officers found 3.128kg of suspected heroin in her luggage. The case was adjourned to May 24.


man survives leap


A 28-year-old man survived after jumping off a footbridge on Gloucester Road and being hit by a taxi outside the Immigration Tower in Wan Chai shortly after 12.15pm yesterday.


police use pepper spray


A policeman used pepper spray to subdue a man in Tsim Sha Tsui East yesterday. Police were called in when the man, 29, allegedly beat his girlfriend, 23, at Hong Tai Path at about 5.30am. When officers arrived, the man allegedly resisted arrest.


AIR-FRESHNER EXPLODES


A can of air-freshner left on the back seat of a car parked in the sun in Kwai Chung exploded yesterday, damaging the rear windscreen. Firemen said the can had overheated, causing the blast.
