Your chance to shoot wildlife

Curious about wildlife? And we don't mean the Wan Chai variety. If so, the Discovery Network's Animal Planet wants you. In yet another reality TV format, they are looking for the next wildlife filmmaker and will take six participants to the Shamwari Game Reserve in South Africa this July for a show called Unearthed. Expert animal filmmakers Lyndal Davies and Andrew Barron will guide and train the contestants through tasks and challenges.

If you want to apply, go to www.animalplanetasia.com, click on the Unearthed link and you will find the eligibility criteria and a downloadable application form. You will also need to create a three-minute personal profile video. The deadline is May 5.

If you're serious, filmmaker Davies has five tips for working with animals: 1) patience, 2) be prepared to rough it, 3) story telling, 4) communication, and 5) passion. Let's not forget a pair of tight khaki shorts and liberal use of the word 'crikey!'
