Charity-minded Cathay staff aim to be high-flying walkers
CATHAY Pacific Airways' crew is aiming to emulate the winning ways of the Gurkha soldiers in today's tourism walkathon.
The Gurkhas are consistent tearaway winners of the gruelling annual MacLehose Trail Walk, and although the tourism industry's own charity walk is only one year old, the airline is finding its own way of dominating this event.
In last year's Tourism Walks for Charity, Cathay Pacific topped the event in two ways.
The airline entered the largest number of walkers into the event, among all the corporate participants, and also raised the most money.
Cathay Pacific hopes to add to these achievements today by becoming the first to finish the walk.
Out of more than 1,000 people who took part in last year's fund-raiser, 180 came from Cathay Pacific.
