LINGNAN UNIVERSITY is offering five-week intensive courses this summer for those who want to make use of their holidays for studying.

The university is inviting Form Seven, associate degree or undergraduate students to apply

for the courses.

Running from May 29 to June 30, Lingnan's Summer School will offer a wide range of courses from

the university's undergraduate programme.

Students will get transferable credits and the opportunity to live on campus so they can get a taste of liberal arts education in Hong Kong.

About 30 courses in different areas, including business management, cultural studies, hospitality, philosophy and translation, are on offer. They will be taught in English.

Each student can only register for one course. They can enjoy full campus facilities and hostel accommodation at a weekly rate of $350. The tuition fee is $5,000 for a three-credit or language course (except English and Chinese), while the fee for a one-credit course is $1,700.

Students who satisfactorily complete the summer courses will be awarded academic credits recognised by Lingnan University, which may be used to apply for transfer to other local and overseas institutions.

Lingnan students who attend the summer courses can use the credits for the regular academic terms as well.

The deadline for applications is May 15. For enquiries, call 2616 8750 or visit www.ln.edu.hk/summer
