A US$300,000 cheque is not the only motivation for English star Paul Casey in today's final round of the US$1.8 million BMW Asian Cup - he is chasing Ryder Cup points as well.
For every euro won there is a Ryder Cup point and Casey wants to bag as many as possible before returning to Europe next week.
The 28-year-old, smitten by his first appearance in Europe's record-breaking 181/2-91/2 victory at Oakland Hills in 2004, is two shots behind leader Henrik Stenson going into the final day at the Tomson Golf Club in Shanghai.
Stenson says the Ryder Cup points will take care of themselves, but he is already a shoo-in for the European team after a great start to the season.
Casey would also be an automatic selection if the team was chosen today, but he can't stop thinking about the clash with the United States at the K Club in Dublin in September.
'Tomorrow is a big day as there are a lot of points to be won. I would love to be a part of the team again. It is a big goal for me,' said Casey, who shot a three-under 69 yesterday and believes a 68 could be enough to win him the prize today, or make a play-off.
Casey has had a lot of success in China, winning the TCL Classic at Hainan Island and the Volvo China Open in Shenzhen last year, but says he doesn't feel as comfortable on the Tomson layout.
