Superb Fu makes it to quarter-finals
Hong Kong's Marco Fu swept imperiously into the quarter-finals of the World Snooker Championships at the Crucible Threatre in Sheffield yesterday after a superb 13-4 win over Scotland's Stephen Maguire.
The 28-year-old started yesterday's afternoon session with a commanding 12-4 advantage and soon sent Maguire packing thanks to a brilliant break of 101.
It's the second time Fu has made the quarter-finals of the showpiece event, after he reached the same stage in 2003.
The Hong Kong player will either face last year's runner-up Mathew Stephens of Wales or Ireland's 1997 world champion Ken Doherty in the last 16.
