Facial for those with champagne tastes

Caviar as a facial? That's the idea as the Kerstin Florian spa range introduced its new caviar beauty products at a lunch in the InterContinental hotel's presidential suite on Tuesday. But don't worry, you're not actually smearing sturgeon eggs on your T-zone.

'When people hear about the new caviar range they're concerned, as they think we'll be mashing fish eggs onto their face,' said Charlene Florian Barker (right), vice-president of Kerstin Florian and daughter of the founder. 'But we use the extracts, which are high in protein and fatty acids. We don't want to promote anti-ageing as such; our philosophy is more about being ageless, and comfortable in your skin.'

The other thing being plugged at the event was the hotel's First Lady package for Mother's Day.

It includes a chauffeured Rolls-Royce ride to the hotel, a night at the suite, a Kerstin Florian treatment, a hair and makeup session, plus an exclusive dinner on the terrace and a champagne caviar breakfast.

The damage: $188,888. Don't even think about it, mum!
