If life gives you lemon, make lemonade! When the Hong Kong Players had to postpone their production of David Mamet's Speed-the-Plow (the 1988 play that Madonna starred in on Broadway), they didn't cry or lament over the money already spent renting the Arts Centre's McAulay Studio theatre. Instead, they decided to use it for acting workshops. The first is called Making It Real: Acting Advice from the Experts, to be held on Tuesday, May 2, from 7.30-9.30pm led by some method-trained instructors. The second is Fun With Film Scenes, on Saturday, May 6, 8-10pm. It will explore the drama in your favourite celluloid scene. Each workshop costs $150 per person and can be booked by calling 6197 8076. By the way, Speed-the-Plow will be staged in late June.
