Anthony Horowitz is best known for his Alex Rider series of teen hero spy novels, but with Raven's Gate, he has come up with something totally different. Here we have a sinister fantasy that will keep readers on the edge of their seats.

Fourteen-year-old Matt Freeman has got involved with an older boy who persuades him to rob a warehouse to get some easy money.

But Matt is caught by the police and sent to a foster home in a remote village. He lives with Mrs Deverill on an isolated farm, where sinister things are going on.

Matt soon realises that Mrs Deverill is the leader of a coven of witches who are planning to unleash something very nasty on an unsuspecting world.

Thrills and shivers are guaranteed in Raven's Gate, which is a creepy, disturbing trip to the dark side.
