THE City Contemporary Dance Company will present a new Journey to the West this Christmas and New Year. This time, we will see the almighty Monkey King locked in combat with the cunning Red Baby King who is waiting to attack the holy contingent.

After being kept under the Five Finger Mountain for 500 years, the Monkey King is saved by the Tang Monk to accompany him on the journey to the West for the holy Buddhist scripts. However, the Tang Monk is captured by Red baby King! Journey to the West: Red Baby King is a carnival-like performance with grand festive spirit, exciting and colourful sets and costumes.

Presented by the Regional Council and performed by the City Contemporary Dance Company and the Jean M. Wong School of Ballet, the play will be staged on December 18 at 8 pm at Tuen Mun Town Hall, December 25 at 3 pm at Tsuen Wan Town Hall, and January 1 and 2 at the Sha Tin Town Hall.

Tickets of $100, $80, $60 and $40 (half-price for students and senior citizens) are available at all URBTIX outlets now. Please call 734-9009 for reservation and 452-7309 for programme enquiries.
