The editing of the letter 'Substitute for life' (April 7) incorrectly implied that only prisoners sentenced to mandatory life imprisonment who have received a minimum-term recommendation from a judge are assessed by the Long Term Prison Sentences Review Board. In fact, all mandatory life sentences are reviewed by the board, regardless of whether a minimum-term report has been made by a judge.
