St Margaret's Co-educational English Secondary and Primary School has raised $12,000 to assist the rebuilding of Innisfail State High School in Queensland, Australia.

The Innisfail State High was destroyed during a cyclone in March.

St Margaret's launched the fund-raising effort after its students and teachers saw photographs of the devastation.

A cheque presentation on Tuesday was attended by Murray Cobban (above centre), Consul-General of Australia in Hong Kong.

More materials, such as stationery and other school supplies, will be delivered to the Queensland school in July.
