Talented Team Concepts group scoops three prizes

IT may not be unusual for a company to walk off with a couple of prizes in the Governor's Award for Industry, but this year a Hong Kong firm has gained three awards in two different categories.

Team Concepts Electronics Ltd, a subsidiary of the Bermuda registered Team Concepts Holdings Ltd, won the Governor's Award in the Export Marketing category, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) Consumer Product Design Award and a Certificate of Merit in the same section for a separate product.

A dedicated designer and manufacturer of electronics products, especially learning aids and pre-school toys, Team Concepts won the Export Marketing Award in recognition of the company's excellence in strategic marketing, product innovation, export sales performance, product branding, market penetration, marketing management, objectives and motivation.

In the FHKI design category, Team Concepts' educational computer for children, the Comquest PC, was adjudged to blend education with entertainment and ''brings a breakthrough in the toy industry'' with its built-in, 22 multi-level activities and a screen which has ''the finest resolution on the market'', said the company.

The other product, which earned a Certificate of Merit, was the TV Bean from Team Concepts International Ltd, the telecommunications and consumer electronic products division of the parent company. TV Bean, according to the firm, ''is a totally new concept in universal remote control and the first of its kind to employ ergonomic design instead of the conventional kind.''
