My media idol and favourite broadcaster Robert Chua Wah-peng turns 60 today, so we just want to say Happy Birthday, old boy! Monday also marks a special occasion because it will be exactly 39 years to the day since he joined TVB. For better or for worse, as the first production manager at TVB, Robert brought live television to Hong Kong, including Enjoy Yourself Tonight - which is listed in Guinness World Records as the world's longest-running live variety show - and the debut Miss Hong Kong pageant.

Robert recently started The Interactive Channel, the first 24-hour interactive TV channel in Asia, which is available on its own website and Cable TV. It features programmes for minorities such as Filipinos and supports charities like Oxfam.

'I did not expect what I have achieved today as I had only wanted to do what I love doing - television, without any expectation,' Robert said. 'I believe that anyone who is passionate with their job [which I treat as a hobby], asks nothing in return and just works very hard will eventually succeed.'

Golden words!
