Tsang says Anson meeting covered food, family and shopping - not politics
Donald Tsang Yam-kuen said when he met former chief secretary Anson Chan Fang On-sang in Macau at the weekend they talked about food and shopping.
'We meet very frequently. We don't talk about politics,' he told Bloomberg TV.
'We talk about food, Hong Kong people, dress, shopping, travelling and our offspring,' he said, amid growing speculation that Mrs Chan has already been talked out of standing against him in next year's chief executive election.
The chief executive earlier said he would leave Hong Kong for a few years when he retires to give his successor more room - a remark seen as an attack on Mrs Chan, who has been outspoken in retirement.
Asked about the remarks, Mr Tsang conceded: 'Whether you are retiring inside or outside Hong Kong, you need to talk to people.'
