Mainland DVD counterfeiters, it seems, not only have a wicked sense of humour, but culture as well. Some even read high-brow The Boston Globe.

How else can you explain this quote taken from the Globe's respected film critic Ty Burr that appears on a fake disc package of Memoirs of a Geisha starring the yummy trio Zhang Ziyi, Michelle Yeoh and Gong Li?

It says: 'Its commercial compromises cripple it as a movie.'

We presume that Sony Pictures has enough sense not to include it as a blurb on its film product.
