Philips stars reveal how to impress clients

Philips Electronics Hong Kong fielded three candidates for the HKMA Distinguished Salesperson Award this year. Two of them were among the winners. Charlie Tse and Vera Sung, both promoters of domestic appliances and personal care products, have nine to 10 years experience in sales respectively.

Apart from meeting sales targets, Ms Tse said improving one's skills was necessary to ensure the best service standards for clients. She said being polite, professional and understanding customers' real needs was how she won customers' trust.

Ms Sung believes good communications skill is vital in convincing customers to accept their offers.

They both say they have become better communicators through taking part in DSA.

'I learned not to speak too fast so as to make sure the target audience is very clear what I sell,' said Ms Tse.

'I now avoid ending a sentence with la, na and oh,' adds Ms Sung.

Ms Elsa Wong, director, domestic appliances and personal care (Hong Kong/ Macau), said the company provided enhancement training focusing on selling and presentation skills and product knowledge before the DSA judging process begins.
