Youths held after drugs are seized

Police arrested three youths including a boy of 15 for trafficking in dangerous drugs after a seizure worth $36,000 from a flat in Wa Fung Street, Hunghom. Officers also seized an extendable baton and a 60cm knife. The drugs seized were 1kg of cannabis, 15 grams of Ice and 30 grams of ketamine.

Court changes considered

A consultation paper on whether solicitors should be allowed to work in a wider range of courts is available from the High Court in Admiralty. It lists arguments for and against giving solicitors access to courts where only barristers can argue cases. The consultation ends on August 31.

Student collapses

An 18-year-old, described as an elite student, was in a critcal condition in Princess Margaret Hospital after he collapsed in a physical education examination. Cai Zheng-jie passed out after completing a nine-minute run in the grounds of Caritas St Joseph Secondary School in Tsing Yi.

burglar caught

A burglar was caught trying to open the rear door of a fast-food shop in Landale Street, Wan Chai. Police seized a pair of gloves, torch and clamp from the 29-year-old.

footbridge leap

A man with a history of mental illness suffered head injuries when he leaped from a footbridge in Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road.
