Act responsibly and keep Hong Kong clean

Many Hong Kong people do not have a sense of civic responsibility.

Although there are litter bins on almost every street, people still throw rubbish on the ground.

I've also seen discarded tissue, newspapers and plastic bags on buses and trains.

Barbecue sites are a real mess. They are full of rubbish, with leftover food giving off a foul smell.

Hong Kong's environment has become worse. We don't want Hong Kong to become a dirty city.

We should act more responsibly and keep Hong Kong clean.

Thanks for your letter, Tsz-wai. Your observations are very valid. I see a lot of rubbish on the ground and in the harbour. Rubbish attracts flies and mosquitoes, which may carry diseases.

We all have the responsibility to keep Hong Kong clean. Tourists would not want to come to the Pearl of the Orient if there's no improvement to the environment.

Always discard your rubbish in rubbish bins, and encourage your friends and family members to do the same. Keep Hong Kong clean!
