Kangta, Vanness make waves

South Korean star Kangta (Ahn Chil-hyun) and Taiwanese singer-actor Vanness Wu Jian-hao have joined forces and are making waves in Asia.

The R&B duo, Kangta & Vanness, released their debut EP, Scandal, in Asia earlier this month. They're now promoting the record around Asia including Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

After announcing the collaboration earlier this year, the duo made their long-awaited public performance as the closing acts at the MTV Asia Awards in Bangkok

last month.

Ahn (left with Wu), who launched his solo venture after his former popular Korean boy band, Hot, disbanded in 2001, and Wu, a member of the popular Taiwanese boy band F4, are regarded as this year's most promising group in Asia.

'This is a great collaboration. We've received a good response from fans. I get a lot of satisfaction from it,' Wu said during their Taiwan promotion. 'We hope to achieve our goals step by step.'

The American-born Chinese said he would learn from working with the Korean star. 'Kangta is talented - strong in both singing and music production,' said Wu, referring to his new partner, who is also a talented songwriter.

'I want to learn more from him in this area. Hopefully, I can make good music like him.'
