Smitthi Bhiraleus

Vice-president and general manager

MTV Networks Thailand

Smitthi Bhiraleus will lead the new phase of development and expansion for MTV Networks Thailand. Previously, he was general manager for Channel [V] Thailand, and was responsible for the channel's strategic planning, operation, sales and programming. He was also brand manager for 94.5 Love FM, a popular radio station under the Broadcasting Network (Thailand) umbrella.

Christopher Taylor

Services director for Asia Pacific

Polycom

Mr Taylor will be responsible for all aspects of Polycom's global services business in Asia Pacific. Previously, he was acting director for Cisco's Asia Pacific Advanced Services in Hong Kong. He was also Compaq technical services manager, based in Dubai. His work experience includes systems engineering, customer services operations, product support, advanced engineering services and professional service delivery.

Lucia Shum

Executive director - events

InterContinental Hong Kong

Ms Shum will lead a team of 15 events executives and will oversee the hotel's catering operations, which include galas and conferences. She joined the hotel in 2004 as director of events after spending 10 years in the catering department at the Conrad Hong Kong. During her last five years at the Conrad, she was assistant director of catering.

Martin T. Ecknig

Executive vice-president and chief financial officer

Siemens Hong Kong

Mr Ecknig is responsible for the company's financial management, information technology, facility management and logistics, as well as the business administration of all the company's business groups in Hong Kong and Macau. Before taking up his present position, he was a vice-president of Siemens China and director of business development, responsible for the company's China growth initiatives.

Roger Li

Regional managing director

Oracle Greater China

Mr Li will lead Oracle's Greater China regional management team in the Oracle Golden China initiative, which aims to make the company a partner of choice to government, customers, the software industry, the community and employees. Oracle is expanding its presence by investing in new operations in key mainland cities and fast-growing provincial economies. Mr Li will be based in Beijing.

George Or

General manager, Greater China

Mr Or will head a team responsible for driving the company's business growth, and customer and partner success in the mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. Previously, he was general manager for HP Storage in China, during which time the company achieved the leading market share position for storage. He also served as general manager of HP's APAC Storage solutions.

Catherine Cheung

Head of personal financial services

China, Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation

Ms Cheung will be based in Shanghai and will assume responsibility for developing the bank's retail banking business in the mainland. She has been with HSBC in Hong Kong for more than 25 years, and has extensive experience in corporate and retail banking. In 1995, she moved to personal financial services and assumed the position of senior manager, retail risk management.
