Fukien Secondary School Form Two pupils Angels Yeung Nga-ying, 15, and Tony Cheuk Chin-wa, 14, make adjustments to a solar energy experiment, part of the school's model Global Village.

The project was a collaboration between teams of Form Two and Form Three students and former pupils of the school to develop a scaled-down community powered entirely by renewable energy sources.

'It was a great opportunity for the students to experience peer learning,' said science teacher Albert Ma Guanglei. Other successful renewables included a wind farm and a hydro dam.
