Art of contrast

Black and white are here to stay, judging by Versace's 2007 home collection. The contrasting hues are coupled with patterns and other colours that are, the company says, at the heart of Versace's 'DNA'. Some pieces use black and white in solid blocks, including the Unique chaise longue (above; Euro3,890/$38,200), featuring quilted leather and a chrome frame; others feature the classical Greek fret motif; and a few demand attention with big, stylised roses inspired by the 1920s fashion designs of Paul Poiret.
