Four mannequins wearing sexy pink-and-black lingerie, standing on a second-floor balcony, have been attracting a lot of attention from Times Square shoppers in the past six months. But women wondering what the shop - named Closer - looks like on the inside will feel like children in a sweet shop the moment they enter.

Closer's pink-and-black theme is reflected everywhere - the shop's black wallpaper is adorned with pink roses, a black chandelier hangs from the ceiling and pink feather boas abound.

The shop boasts western brands such as Victoria's Secret and Hustler, priced from $700 a set, and more affordable brands from Japan including Peach John, Amo's Style, Body Focus and Rolian Mille, which start at $300.

Closer opened in January, the same month as rival GlamRose set up in the building next door. While GlamRose sells high-end lingerie, Closer has a wider range of products and targets a younger clientele. Other goodies include gloves, hosiery from Leg Avenue, corsets ($500 to $1,000) and even pink hairdryers ($98).

Closer's owner, Barbee To, plans to open a Central branch in August.

Closer is at 2/F, 20 Russell Street, Causeway Bay, tel: 2893 9598. Opening hours are 1pm to 11pm every day, including public holidays.
