That's quality with a 'V'

Though soft-opened since March, the V Happy Valley serviced apartments were officially unveiled on Friday to friends and associates of the mother-daughter team of Vivien Chan and Anna Mae Koo.
They own and run the 20-storey building which boasts Philip Liao designs, hi-tech amenities and Italian furniture. It's an impressive effort, considering this is their first foray into property rental.
'I'm just glad my mum was kind enough to let me work with her,' Koo said.
Certainly, there would be few better entrepreneurial role models. Besides being a lawyer, Chan (pictured) was the recipient of a Hong Kong Women Professionals & Entrepreneurs Association award in 2005.
'We have another serviced-apartment property opening in Wan Chai in November.' Chan said. When one acquaintance joked, 'Other places have W Hotels, we have V here', Chan was quick to downplay the comparison.
'We're nowhere up to that standard. I just want to build a brand that stands for quality.'
