Kan bids to regain top spot
HOME advantage can help defending champion Richard Kan regain top spot in the Hong Kong Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Order of Merit rankings today.
Going into the fourth and penultimate leg of the 1993-94 circuit at the Clear Water Bay Golf and Country Club, Kan narrowly trails Dominique Boulet in the standings.
But playing over a course with which he is intimately familiar, Kan is favoured to take top honours in the 36-hole event and replace his international teammate at the top of the ladder.
Inspired by a new broomhandle putter, Boulet has rediscovered his confidence.
Yau Sui-ming, Hong Kong's most experienced international player, is also in contention for the title but knows he cannot afford to lose further ground to Boulet and Kan.
