Thatcher words were right

I REFER to Ms Sim Suk-fan's letter (South China Morning Post, November 16) regarding our Pearl programme Thatcher: The Downing Street Years, and would like to correct a comment made on the Chinese subtitles of the programme.

Baroness Dunn's comment on Mrs Thatcher during her interview in the programme was: ''Here is a territory [Hong Kong] with close to six million people whom she [Mrs Thatcher] admires.'' Our Chinese subtitles gave an accurate translation on what Lady Dunn had said (literal translation: this place has six million people she admires). It was not translated as ''Six million people admire her [Mrs Thatcher]'' as Ms Sim said.

Nevertheless, we wish to thank Ms Sim for tuning in to Pearl and in her interest in TVB.
