For his outstanding support of arts and culture, Henderson Land group chairman Lee Shau-kee was presented with the 2006 Montblanc de la Culture Arts patronage award last month.

Montblanc managing director Wolff Heinrichsdorff presented Lee with the prize, along with a Sir Henry Tate fountain pen, and a Euro15,000 ($149,000) donation, which was forwarded to the Chung Ying Theatre company.

The gala event at the Four Seasons Hotel was attended by local business and cultural luminaries, including Peter Wong Man-kong, Montblanc's James Siano, New World Development's Cheng Yu-tung and Rosanna Wong Yick-ming, as well as two of the prize's jury members: conductor Edo de Waart and designer Lo Kai-yin.
