A great opportunity in PR - if the shoe fits

The Asia-Pacific figures large in the operations and accounts of sporting goods giant Nike. The region is the company's third-largest market in terms of revenue and number one in terms of manufacturing.

Nike in Hong Kong is looking for a public relations manager to be responsible for strategic planning and implementing the company's global public relations and marketing activities in the territory.

The ideal candidate would be someone with a pleasant personality and the ability to build a strong relationship with the media and celebrities. He or she would also be expected to build up a network of individuals and groups to promote the Nike brand image.

Some experience in managing public relations events and large-scale marketing campaigns is expected.

The candidate will be liaising with the regional office and discussing matters such as strategy implementation and the company's global public relations direction.

Applicants should have a university degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related discipline.

A minimum of six years of relevant experience and three years in a managerial position, preferably in the consumer or sports industries, is also required.
