THE total amount of donations to Operation Santa Claus burst through the $900,000 barrier yesterday.

The jointly sponsored campaign by RTHK and the South China Morning Post finished the day at $908,737.

Also yesterday, Hong Kong resident Tracy Heung Suet-ching got an early Christmas present, when her business card was selected from the lucky draw, winning her two business class Cathay Pacific return flights to Cebu in the Philippines.

Students at St Rose of Lima School near Mongkok are to hold a lunchtime fast, a grand Operation Santa Claus Christmas Party, a talent show and pantomime.

And Esprit stores are still offering a special Operation Santa collection that includes a cotton knit turtle neck sweater for $195 and a cotton knit cardigan for $245, in red, navy, charcoal grey and beige.

Shoppers who buy one of the two items will be eligible to enter Esprit's New Year's Eve lucky draw where they could win a $5,000 Esprit gift certificate.

Operation Santa Claus contributions can be given at Mad Dogs, the Body Shop, Oliver's and Esprit.
