Samba Goal by Various Artists

Fans beware - although two-time Fifa World Player of the Year Ronaldinho Gaucho's buck-toothed grin is on the CD cover, Samba Goal has little to do with the footballer himself.

The 14 tracks are simply a collection of Ronaldinho's 'favourite Brazilian songs', many of which would still be blasting out of speakers everywhere had Brazil not made its early exit from the World Cup.

One track does feature Ronaldinho - Goleador (Superscorer). It is a joint collaboration between the Brazilian superstar and the four-man samba team, Sambatri. Unfortunately, the vocals are intertwined into an indistinguishable jumble, so Ronaldinho's presence on percussion and vocals is easily overlooked. But its catchy beats are the perfect accompaniment to World Cup excitement.

The CD features the popular samba number Peguei Um Ita No Norte and the classic hit Mas Que Nada by Sergio Mendes, which was recently re-released featuring the Black Eyed Peas.

Samba Goal, even without much input from Ronaldinho, is set for success. Sung in Portuguese but encouraging the universal language of dance, it is an upbeat soundtrack for summer.
