Updated at 1.51pm:
A former education official was bound over for one year for using a camera to peep under the skirt of a female student during a work visit to a school in 2005, a court ruled on Thursday.

Chan Yuk-ming, a former curriculum development officer from the Education and Manpower Bureau, had originally been accused of committing an indecent act.

Prosecutors dropped the charge against Chan in the Kwun Tong Magistrates? Court on Thursday. This was after he had agreed to $10,000 bail and to be bound over for 12 months on condition he does not re-offend.

During an inspection visit to a laboratory of Mongkok?s Xiandai College last November, Chan allegedly used his mobile phone camera to film under the skirt of a female Form Six student.

CCTV footage showed Chan stoop to put his camera behind the girl three times.

Her classmates discovered Chan?s acts and told their teachers, who later reported it to police.
