Competitors set off on the swimming leg in race four of the Aquathon Series at Tai Mei Tuk yesterday. National triathlon squad member Lemuel Lau Ching-yin took the men's elite division honours in the 500-metre swim, 5km run event. Lau had opted not to race in the ITU Asian Continental Cup Series event in Jinzhou on the mainland and the decision to compete locally paid off as the 23-year-old came out of the water well clear and surged away on the run to finish in 25 minutes and 55 seconds, with Low Han-keat second in 31:23. The women's elite junior race was a more closely fought affair. Vinci Hui Wai-sum worked hard on the 2.5km run to finish in 16:30 for a 19-second win over Edith Li in second place.
