High-end tour agent S.K.Y.Travel helped its parent Swiss tour operator Kuoni Travel Group celebrate 100 years in the business with a press lunch in the suitably aviation cabin decor of the Peninsula Hotel's top-floor China Clipper Lounge. The occasion also allowed S.K.Y. to relate details of eight different jaw-dropping tours GM Kris van Goethem (pictured at Machu Picchu in Peru) designed for the centenary.

The Belgian explained the eight tours - which include a decadent visit through scenic Switzerland, an Orient Express intrigue through Europe, a Maharaja-style Indian trip, a Genghis Khan Mongolian epic, a game park African safari, a wondrous South American sojourn and others - are so exclusive, each journey is limited to a maximum of 20 people. Naturally, the price is just as breathtaking. However, van Goethem contends it will be priceless.

'Premium exclusive trips are not just about the hotel,' he says. 'I try to sniff out the most incredible and special experiences. In Mongolia some of the lodging might be not much more than a hut but you can't get incredible views like that in a hotel.'
