Style secrets of the hip and fashionable

Real estate consultant

Wardrobe staple?

Jeans, I wear them almost everyday. I wear a lot of black, too.

What do you always wear?

I have tonnes of clothes from Tabla. Their tops look great with jeans and people always ask me where they're from.

Fashion no-nos?

Wearing clothing from one designer top-to-toe. It's so much better to mix things up and not try so hard.

Handbag pick for this season?

I love the Goyard collection at Harvey Nichols, especially the yellow colour print.

Favourite shoe designer?

Tod's. Not only do they make fabulous loafers, but their heels are so comfortable they're like slippers. I wear them all the time.

Must-have accessory?

A minaudiere snakeskin clutch from Kotur. It's so stylish and fits the perfect amount.

Most cherished fashion item?

It's not really cherished, but definitely the most useful: a black Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress I've had for years. I've worn it through both pregnancies and it's been around the world about 10 times.

Who would design your Oscar dress?

Oscar de la Renta

Style icon?

She's not my icon, but I like how Carolina Herrera dresses. I think she has great style.

Favourite piece of jewellery?

Earrings my husband gave me for having my daughter, Lily.

Your fashion style?

Quite boring and conservative, I'm afraid.

Boho or lady-like?

I'd love to be Boho, but I think you either have it or you don't. I've tried many times to look Boho but end up looking like a gypsy. I guess I'm more lady-like.

Flats or stilettos?

Both, as long as they're comfortable. Definitely heels at night.

High-end or high street?

Again both, but probably more high street. Actually, I think I fall into a middle category. I have a few nice pieces mixed in with a lot of Joseph, Theory, J Crew, Zara and H&M. Zara is revolutionary as they've got great designs which barely touch the shop floor. You have to be quick or you miss them.

Fashion disaster?

There have been many: Legwarmers in the 1980s and way too much makeup when I was a teenager. Oh, and three earrings in one ear.

Favourite designer?

I think Audrey Chiu is a great designer - I love her New Yorker label. My sister wore one of her dresses to the Laureus World Sports Awards in Monaco and I've never seen so much attention.

Favourite shopping destinations?

I love Hong Kong because I know it so well. London is great and Aspen, Colorado has fantastic boutiques.

Your style advice for working mums?

Black trousers - they're indispensable.

Bootcut or skinny jeans?

Bootcut.

Must-have item for the summer?

A pretty kaftan.

Fashion obsession?

Trying to look reasonably stylish with a jam- packed schedule: two kids, exercise, a job, activities and trying to be a wife, too.
